Cotton pad fire starters.
These are great to make and have on hand in case you need them.
Take the round cotton pads sold for makeup removal, and dip them in melted wax. Keep these stored in an airtight container or bag and keep them with your camping gear.

When you’re ready to light a fire, set your kindling and pyramid, and then use the fire starter to start up your kindling.
The wax and cotton together burn hot enough to catch your wood on fire.
