Summer
Summer has a flavor all its own.
The heavy foods of the winter are gone like the snow, and now it’s time for lighter things eaten out on the patio, hopefully with friends.
I trade in my breakfast oatmeal for refreshing smoothies, and most of my time in the kitchen is spent either prepping for eating outdoors, or heading out for a picnic.

I spend as little time in the kitchen as possible, and I expect my kitchen to cooperate.
The key is to have the right tools.
I’ve recently realized that I use different kitchen equipment during the summer than I do in the winter. The Dutch oven goes on vacation while the grill and sauté pan do the work.
And my blender comes out of hiding for those smoothies.
