Assateague Island is a national seashore, and home to a herd of wild ponies, which are quite a sight to see. When visiting Assateague Island most visitors stay on Chincoteague or in Ocean City, MD and take day trips into the park.

The park is manned by friendly national park staff with plenty of programming for kids and families. There are wildlife tours, kayaking, and camping available on Assateague. And because it is a National Park it is noncommercial and natural, and it’s beauty is unsurpassed.
